Leon McCawley (Piano)

The award-winning British pianist, Leon McCawley has been described as ‘a poet of the keyboard’ and he offers a kaleidoscope of delights in this beautifully crafted programme. He opens with a trio of pieces which embody the core spirit of Romanticism, revealing mysterious soundworlds and fantastical landscapes. He then moves towards the 20th century with a pair of Rachmaninov’s luscious songs, then immerses us in an impressionistic dream, leaving us on The Island of Joy.
